On December 30th, 2022, we gathered for our 5th annual scholarship award ceremony at the house of our liaison Daphne Olu Williams. For this event we partnered with KDU Central Florida for the second time. Ten students were awarded scholarships from KDU Texas: three medical students, one university student studying public health, and six secondary (high school) students. We are proud to announce that a former recipient, Jasonta Coker, graduated from medical school and is currently working on her internship. This event was well attended in person and also on Zoom. Apostle Daphne Olu Williams opened up the event in prayer. Members of KDU Texas that were in attendance were Rosaline Jones who gave the opening remarks, Remilekun Nicol who did the closing prayer, and Sylvia Jones who did the press release. The president of KDU Texas, Yvonne Dean gave her remarks via Zoom. Following our order of events, a vote of thanks was given by two of our scholarship recipients, Velma Williams and Esther Ajivon. Then, Ned Yaskey, another scholarship recipient, presented KDU Texas with a plaque.
